A warm welcome and thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at Gagle Brook.
At Gagle Brook, we care about our learning, each other and the world around us.
As a values-based school, we have a simple vision: to create a school that reflects all that you would choose for your child.
We believe every child should love learning, relish challenge, and work positively and collaboratively with others to achieve their goals. The One Planet principles are interwoven into our curriculum so that your child leaves Gagle Brook appreciating and valuing the world they live in.
On this page, you can find information about how to apply for a place, in-year admissions, open events, and what to expect for your child’s first days at the school.
How to Apply
If you are considering making an application, please fill in the form in the sidebar, and we will get in contact.
Admissions to the school are coordinated by Oxfordshire County Council, and your application can be completed and submitted online. Click the button below to visit the Oxfordshire County Council applications website for the application form and further details.
In order to be considered for a place in the normal admissions round for entry into Reception from September 2021, applications must be completed by 15th January 2021.
All applicants will be sent letters from the local authority informing them of the result of their application on 16th April 2021. Unsuccessful applicants will be informed by the school of their position on the reserve list.
As a growing school, we welcome children both to our Reception class each September but also in other year groups if you are new to the area. Please do get in touch with the office for any further information or to arrange a tour.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, we are currently not running visits for individual families. If you would like us to provide any further information about Gagle Brook, or would be interested in a virtual tour, don’t hesitate to contact our admissions office by sending an email to: [email protected], or by calling 01869228750. In the meantime, you can watch our school tour video below!
We welcome students joining us at any time of year. If you currently live outside of the local area, you can find more information about transferring to a Bicester school by clicking the button below.
You can also contact our admissions officer/school office for more information about in-year transfers by contacting [email protected].
We accept school application forms for in-year transfer a maximum of one term in advance of the requested start date, based on six terms per academic year. We aim to process in-year transfer requests within 10 school days. However, there may be delays incurred where, for example, an academy has a monthly admissions meeting. Once we have processed your application, we will contact you either by email or post.
Proof of Address
If you are moving to a new address in Oxfordshire, you should provide proof of that new address as soon as possible.IIt is likely that this will give your child a higher priority for a school place than if your application is processed on your current or previous address.
Please note that if your tenancy is for less than six months, this may not be considered as sufficient proof of address for school admission purposes.
Documents we accept as proof of address include:
- Solicitor’s letter confirming contracts have been exchanged.
- Tenancy agreement (page showing details of new address and last page signed by landlord and tenant).
- New council tax demand.
- Letter from new employer (e.g. university college) where accommodation is being provided by them and is tied to the new post/job.
- New quarter information if this is a military posting with provided accommodation.
- Assignment order if this is a military posting but new quarter has not yet been notified.
New Starters - What to Expect
We understand that starting at a new school, potentially for the first time ever, can be exciting, but comes with so much information to take on board. For our new starters, we will always make them feel as welcome as possible.
Usually, we would offer in person tours and also visit children at their Nursery setting but we have also carried out many online methods to ensure children and parents feel welcome. These have included videos of the school setting, welcome messages from staff and direct contact when sharing preparation materials.
We are here to help and ensure a smooth transition for your child.
