Every year at Gagle Brook, we host an annual book fair. With the situation this year a little different, we decided to put on a Virtual Book Fair, using Facebook groups to host the event.
For the event, we partnered up with Usborne Publishing, who provided a huge array of excellent children’s books for our parents to purchase. For each pound spent, Usborne then donated books to the school up to the value of 60%.
In total, our parents bought over £600 of books. With the addition of funds raised through a popular raffle, Usborne then donated over £400 worth of books to the school library!
We recently received a big delivery from Usborne Publishing using the money, take a look at just how much we received in the video below!
Especially considering this was an online remote event, we were absolutely blown away by the support of our small but strong parent community.
At Gagle Brook, we put a strong emphasis on the importance of helping our pupils develop reading habits that will enrich their lives, and help them succeed in their academic journey.
It’s therefore really great to see parents engaging by purchasing books to read at home with their children.
We’d like to give a huge thanks to all the parents involved, and Usborne Publishing for supporting us with this fantastic initiative.
